Steam bath

The steam bath was already known in antique Greece. It is a pleasant sweat bath with effects similar to sauna. In the steam bath the temperature is between 40°C and 55°C with an air humidity of approx. 80-100%. The typical climate in the steam bath is reached by the production of supersaturated steam by a boiler.

The ideal combination of warmth and humidity loosens, cleans, takes care and is relaxing. Different possibilities to add ethereal oils increase the bath pleasure and may support the healing of respiratory tract infections etc.
It were the Romans already who recognised the relaxing effect of the steaming warmth which positively should affect hair, skin and respiratory organs. Though the cold water hose in the steam bath primarily is intended for hosing down the seat, it can, however, be used according to Kneipp for the stimulation of the circulation.
